The arcade game usually has fewer units, because the player goes one on one with the moles. The player whacks the moles until they out race him. The additional challenge is to beat the best score of the day, and tickets are awarded for good performance.

The other versions are competitions that pit the players against each other. The moles keep popping up until a player reaches a specified score. The first player to whack the specified number of moles wins the prize.
